What AO appears to confirm
AO.com lists the Samsung Galaxy S26 256GB Smartphone in Cobalt Violet, Purple under the Mobile Phones category, with Samsung as the brand and the tracked price at £699. The visible listing also ties this exact page to model code SM-S942BZVGEUB, which is useful if you are comparing it with other retailers or other Samsung colours. Live AO page access was limited during checking, so the full spec list, delivery terms and warranty details still need confirming on the retailer page.
What the wider review picture suggests
Public review coverage for the Galaxy S26 is broad, with major tech publications discussing the line as a flagship Samsung phone family. The visible owner reviews on AO are strong at 4.8 out of 5 from up to 3,072 reviews, which is more reassuring than a listing with only a handful of ratings. Against the supplied benchmark of 75 comparable mobile phones, £699 sits close to the median of £799, while 25 comparable options start lower and 43 start higher, so this is not a bargain-basement buy but also not at the top of the price band.
Buyer trade-offs to weigh
The biggest decision points here are model match, colour preference and price position, not a long spec list you can safely assume from the title alone. With just 1 tracked variant in the available product information, the Samsung Galaxy S26 256GB in Purple/Cobalt Violet is best for shoppers who already know they want this finish and storage level at £699. If you are comparing across retailers, make sure the exact unlocked model and model code line up, because region-specific naming can differ even when the family name looks the same. It is also sensible to compare nearby Samsung and non-Samsung alternatives before deciding, especially if you are not set on the colour.
Price and value benchmark
At £699, the Samsung Galaxy S26 256GB Smartphone in Cobalt Violet, Purple sits in the middle of the comparable set rather than clearly undercutting it. The benchmark comparison covers 75 similar mobile phones, with 25 starting lower and 43 starting higher, so this is best judged as a competitive mid-pack price for a 256GB Samsung flagship-style phone. If AO adds a delivery charge or the price moves, re-check whether the final basket total still makes sense versus nearby rivals.
How it compares with nearby alternatives
The nearest comparisons in the supplied shortlist are other Samsung Galaxy S26 256GB colours at the same £699 level, plus the Samsung Galaxy S26+ 512GB in Sky at £849. That makes the choice less about a simple winner and more about whether you want the 256GB base model, a different finish such as Black, White or Blue, or a bigger Samsung option with more storage for a higher outlay. If you are open to other brands, compare the exact storage, unlocked status and current offer rather than focusing only on the family name.
How to read the review evidence
The 4.8 out of 5 rating details from up to 3,072 reviews is the clearest positive sign on the page, because it suggests sustained interest rather than a tiny sample. There is also public expert coverage for the Galaxy S26 from major tech publications, which adds context, but that is not the same as fully verified product-by-product comparison detail for this exact AO listing. Because the AO page was partially blocked during checking, shoppers should treat the review details as encouraging rather than a substitute for confirming the live spec, stock and terms.
Who it suits
This listing should suit shoppers who want a Samsung Galaxy S26 256GB as a flagship-style shortlist buy and care about the balance of price, colour and visible review details. It is also a good fit if you already want the Purple/Cobalt Violet finish and would rather compare offers around £699 than start from a much lower budget tier. If you are shopping for a current retail offer and want a familiar Samsung model family, this page gives you a practical starting point.
Who should avoid it
Skip it if you need a fully verified retailer page before buying, because the live AO listing could not be fully checked for every spec and service detail. It is also less suitable if you want the cheapest possible alternative, since £699 sits near the middle of the peer set rather than clearly below it. And if you are comparing across countries or retailers, avoid assuming the same Galaxy S26 naming always means the same model code or region setup.
Comfort and support checks
For a Samsung Galaxy S26 256GB Smartphone at £699, the practical comfort checks are less about installation and more about size, handling and whether the exact listing matches your preferred setup. The available product information points to 256GB storage and the Cobalt Violet/Purple finish, but it does not expose every live detail on battery, camera or software support from the AO page itself. Before ordering, confirm the unlocked status, any delivery service, and whether the retailer terms meet your expectations for support and returns.
Value check
Value here depends on whether £699 is the right price for the exact Samsung Galaxy S26 256GB Smartphone in Cobalt Violet, Purple you want, not just the model family name. The visible review details is strong, and the benchmark position looks reasonable against a £799 median peer price, but the final call should include live AO stock, delivery and any offer changes. If you find the same exact model code with a better total basket price or a closer fit in another Samsung colour, it is worth comparing before checking out.
